Where Charity AND Kindness Meet

Pay It Forward Kiwi-Wellness

G M Remedial is committed to uplifting individuals in challenging or vulnerable circumstances. We understand that massage therapy can be a powerful ally for those facing life's stresses or struggling with overwhelming thoughts, as research shows it brings healing and relief to both the mind and body.

We have teamed up with the Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust in Otago to provide discounted one hour massage therapy sessions to their clients. These are made possible by generous community donations to fully fund each session. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, you can donte via our Givealittle page. Vouchers will then be distributed directly to the Life Matters charity and through WINZ office notice boards.

We are enthusiastic about the advantages of massage and are keen to support these crucial and compassionate initiatives. Our aim is to dedicate 25% of our monthly appointments to our Kiwi-Wellness Pay It Forward recipients.

How Does Massage Help Our Most Vulnerable?

Massage promotes the release of endorphins and serotonin, which are natural mood lifters that can help alleviate feelings of depression and anxiety. This biochemical response can foster a temporary but significant sense of well-being, which is crucial for someone struggling with dark thoughts.

The physical touch in Massage can provide a sense of human connection and care, combating feelings of isolation or loneliness, which are on the rise in modern times. Massage's relaxation effect can also reduce stress hormones like cortisol, thereby decreasing overall stress levels and promoting mental well-being.

Massage can enhance physical comfort by improving circulation and muscle relaxation, indirectly supporting mental health by reducing physical discomfort that could exacerbate emotional distress.

While Massage is not a cure, it can support a comprehensive mental health care plan by providing immediate relief, promoting relaxation, and fostering a therapeutic environment conducive to healing.
